This project is composed of 10 Composition photos about women and self-awareness. I focus on a series of phenomena and behaviors related to Body dysmorphic disorder. I hope that through my work, people can better understand Body dysmorphic disorder, thereby reducing the occurrence of this symptom.
After the photos were taken, I used Photoshop to cut them up and mix and paste them up, continuing the style I used in the previous exercise. And some innovation and improvement. All of this makes the image more relevant.
These photos show what causes Body dysmorphic disorder -- peer pressure, verbal aggression in social interactions, and judgment. It also shows the consequences of Body dysmorphic disorder -- anxiety, eating disorder, excessive plastic surgery, and so on. Many of these are things that actually happen to the models in this photo series, and I try to represent them in a lot of symbolic ways -- fast food, mirrors, cosmetics, etc..
All in all, Body dysmorphic disorder may not be familiar to many people, but it’s all around us
